August 24-29: Back at JBU

Back to school and back to class. This past week has been full of crazy fun events and I've gotten to see all my friends and catch up with most of them.

8-24-15: Move in Day! Hannah (my roommate) and I stayed up kinda late to make our room nice and neat and mostly organized.

8-25-15: Walks in the cemetery are a nice end to a day back on campus.

8-26-15: First day of classes. Enjoy this lovely picture of the Cathedral and the fountain.

8-27-15: Second day of classes and a mild case of syllabus-shock...

8-28-15: First JBU Women's Soccer game of the season. They gave away rally towels and turkey legs... Those things are monstrous. (Kate and me in the first selfie, Hannah and I in the second).

8-29-15: The 6th annual Mayfield Hall Paint War.

August 20-23

I spent a lot of my time these days packing and preparing for school. Therefore, there is little variety in my pictures for these days. Oh well :)

8-20-15: Just got back from Hot Springs and this little girl refused to leave me alone. Bella could've cared less if we were there or not, except she wanted fresh food and water :)

8-21-15: I really like trees and find them peaceful.

8-22-15: Stormmi really didn't want me to leave for school, and fell asleep in my laptop case.

8-23-15: If only I had captured a video of the craziness these two cats were up to... One would leave the purple cube and the other would jump in. It went back and forth as to who was in the purple cube and who wasn't.

Hot Springs Trip - August 16-19

We went to Hot Springs last week. We dug crystals out of the mine, went to Garvan Woodland gardens, I tasted wine for the first time, and just had a good ole time. Here's the pics :)

8-16-15: There was this great walking path behind our condo. It bordered a lake and was just really peaceful.

8-17-15: Garvan W-oodland Gardens

8-18-15: Dug this beautiful  quartz crystal out of the dirt at the crystal mines. We spent nearly 6 hours total digging for crystals. We ended up with lots of small and medium rocks and one HUGE basketball sized one. It was so fun. We looked like mud balls after we were done :)

8-19-15: We spent our day wondering around Hot Springs. We shopped some and then we went to the National Park. These rocks were pushed up at this angle by an ancient earthquake. They think that this earthquake is what causes the hot water to come to the surface, giving Hot Springs it's name.

August 13-15

Phew, the last couple of weeks have been a whirlwind. We went to Hot Springs, I moved back into the dorm, and just everyday life. Here's a few pics (Hot Springs trip will be in the next post.)

8-13-15: One of my last days at work and the pool was practically empty.

8-14-15: Who can resist loving such an adorable kitty?

8-15-15: Stormmi decided that my comforter for school was hers and slept on it much of the day :)

August 7-12

Whew, the summer is almost over. Not sure yet if I'm excited or sad or relieved. I'm winding down to my last couple of days at work and searching for a fall internship.

8-7-15: Back-lit flowers from unusual angles. Angles most people miss.

8-8-15: "Please stop taking my picture mom."

8-9-15: Cheesy cat selfie.

8-10-15: The sunset was spectacular. The color was vibrant and brief.

8-11-15: More flowers. I think my neighbor must think I'm crazy cuz I'm always taking pictures of their flowers.

8-12-15: Couldn't decide if I liked the dramatics of the black and white or the calmness of the color better.

August 1-6

Whew. How can August be here already? I mean, hasn't summer only just begun?..

8-1-15: Last internship wedding of the summer. The venue had lots of old tractors hanging out, and old vehicles fascinate me.

8-2-15: Another glorious Arkansas sunset.

8-3-15: I'm noticing a theme... the sky and everything in it.

8-4-15: Late night pictures with a rambunctious kitty.

8-5-15: Summer storm.

8-6-15: I spent an hour obsessing over this image to get it exactly right. 36-times the charm, right?

July 27-31

Here we go again, a few days late. I used to be early or on time all of the time, but lately, I've been behind on everything. School starts in 20 days, and move in day is in 18 days. Senior year is coming fast.....

7-27-15: Marigolds are one of the few deer resistant flowers we have found to plant in our front yard.

7-28-15: Double exposures for days.. and I can't figure out how to make it appear in the vertical orientation.

7-29-15: Stormmi's favorite night time activity is trying to eat the moths and bugs on the outside of the windows.

7-30-15: I was working at the pool when the sky erupted with gorgeous colors.

7-31-15: It's getting to be that time of the year where the butterflies are out in abundance.
